so we have a dictatorship that's forcibly detransitioning imprisoned transwomen, trying to make drag a crime, and financially supporting transmisogyny globally-- yet Uncloseted is writing about "bi erasure" and the lack of legal protections for "polyamorous people". Come on. The rest of us are under attack and these quasi-straights are still begging for recognition of their "queerness"?? Trans women are being murdered by the state--I don't fucking care about whether the bi girlies feel "recognized" or whether poly heteros feel "accepted" anymore, it's just not a fucking priority in 2026. This reporting is so fucking 2014 and so painfully homonormative.
No, not “everyone is gay” Abby. I remember the “everybody’s a bit bi” in the early 2000s, and us cishets and LGBT laughed at that. Sexuality IS NOT FLUID, it’s rigid for the majority of humans, it’s static. “Fluidity” in the bi, pan, and ace community is an outlier. And the cycling behavior seems to be part of a STATIC sexual orientation of SOME of the 3 groups I mentioned. When people are repressed due to heteronormativity (which is going nowhere) and social media gives marginalized groups a platform to vent during a very bad political landscape that is vilifying those same people to distract the populace from the unaffordable cost of living, failing infrastructure, and bad jobs, we’re going to think outlier practices are mainstream when they’re not (would Luke Evans and Holland Taylor enjoy a tryst with an opposite gender person? Isn’t that fluid too?). We know that LGBT discovery isn’t 14-25, a trans woman metal guitarist is now physically transitioning at 60. Another thing, bi/pan celebrities or pretty people with money claiming fluidity is crap because they have power and privilege to do what they want to whoever they want- they’ve ALWAYS been doing it, the press just didn’t know. And they will get away with it.
