And I came home late last night to find out that ALL GAC will no longer be covered for anyone using any form of government health care plan come 2026. All care… no more hormones. Surgical dates cancelled. The concession for those who are mid-transition will be coverage of “faith based” counseling. We all know what that means.

I’m already drowning in efforts to find answers about what is going to happen to my child (adult child- still my child).

I’m terrified as a mother.

And I’m not even seeing it mentioned anywhere. Not just MSM but even the independent journalists I follow.

Can you switch to private? I hope that's not insensitive question as I have never worked for the government.

While some, self proclaimed, liberal politicians are abandoning trans people, the rest of us, true liberals, are absolutely not. We are however abandoning the hypocrites in office.

The definition of a coalition is that we all stick together. We have to stick together or we aren't getting our democracy back.

“It seems that it’s simply been decided that trans people are expendable” —Honestly, as a trans person who is an active activist, I’ve known this for years. It’s nothing new. While I’ve worked with legislative teams and talked with elected officials on trans rights, and trained allies, I’ve always felt the weight of allies calling me brave and then turning their backs.

Even when we said (for years) that marriage equality would be next.

Even in your writing- give an inch, take a mile, our lives are that inch. That small, seemingly insignificant part that gave them permission for more. The bias is clear even in our community.

And also: in order to get out of the current hellscape we can’t continue to fall to the right because of purity politics and single issue voting.

With the upcoming midterms (hopefully) and the next presidential election (hopefully) my vote will go to those who will solidify our constitution again.

I would rather continue to talk to people who give me the time of day than hide from those who seek to end me.

Allies: vote for the least harm, please, because losing to the right has been far far worse than an imperfect candidate from the left would have been.

I’m a lefty. I knew with the Orange Pedo fully in charge, I had to pick my battles. I picked trans-rights.
