As a musician, band leader, and lead vocalist who came out publicly as trans in March, I know these policy changes you’ve enumerated on here to be an every day fact of life on any of the social media platforms, aside from BlueSky. I’ve received every threat you gave as example, along with getting death threats daily. I don’t give one iota of value to the words these bigots throw at me, and I encourage my friends and sisters to do the same. It is always the same demographic of people: white cisgender males, “Christian”, straight, and MAGA. It became clear to me when 47 took office that Zuckerberg and the others would be throwing LGBTQ+ people into the fire when they each gave 47 millions of dollars in donations. These media owners care about one thing, and one thing only: money. They will tailor their platforms to coincide with whatever level of human decency and rights acceptance currently accepted by the governing majority, and toss the opposition into the fire.

We LGBTQ+ have had to learn quickly that no moderators would be there to help us or rid these platforms of the bigoted ignorance so rampant in the radical right extremist ideology. However, one thing these prejudiced red pilled deplorables never do expect is pushback.

Find out where they work. Let their place of employment know what a morally defunct person they have working for them. Promote inclusive alternatives to their businesses, if the person attacking is a business owner. Reach out to their church and let the pastor know how discriminating a member of their community is being. There are ways to reverse the downhill slide to bigoted being normalized; Meta having moderators was never going to fix that, but it can be a useful tool in affecting the eradication of this hateful behavior, just the same ❤️✊🏼🏳️‍⚧️
