This is great, the people of Downingtown are lucky to have her as mayor. I think her response to hate on a local level being the two-step of disarming ignorance with laughter and education, while not allowing hate to go unchecked where she can prevent it, is one of the best there is.

It's also great to have more proof (if ever it was needed) that focusing the campaign on issues that directly affect a majority of people, all while maintaining support for queer communities, can and does win elections. Many Dems could learn a lesson from her, Mamdani and Spanberger to realize that this works at every level of politics.

Thank you, Erica Deuso, for being willing to step up to the challenges of your town as a way to give back, and for being one of the countless lights shining hope on queer and trans people.

It’s becoming plain that Trump made promises to get votes. Period. Full Stop. As that becomes more plain, more people who tell the truth and really do want to improve the voters’ lives will win again. Roughly the same thing happened in the US just before Pearl Harbor. Suddenly all of the selfish (and often Fascist) people who were often in big corporations suddenly dove underground.
